This song came out of a place I didn't fully understand while I was in it.
It's called FLY (TO THE KID I WAS).
I don't really want to reduce it to a neat explanation. Some things aren't meant to be summarized, they're meant to be felt.
There's a lot in this one: survival, guilt, hope, and that strange feeling of growing older without ever feeling like you got it right.
This is FLY:
I think, in some way, it's about trying to live a life that the kid I used to be wouldn't be ashamed of... or maybe even proud of. Even if I'm still figuring out what that looks like.
There were moments where I didn't feel like I had much reason to keep going. And then something shifted, something gave me just enough to hold on a little longer.
Life moves whether you're ready or not. It breaks things, it rebuilds things, it leaves questions hanging. And sometimes all you can really do is keep going, keep breathing and hold on to whatever small piece of meaning you can find while trying to become someone your younger self wouldn't give up on.
Maybe that's what this song is. Or maybe it’s just me trying to say: I'm still here.
